Literature Text

He lost his shoes as he walked the fields
Soft kindness leaving hearts on their lone,
Invisible, they glanced by
As solitary storms trickled past

He looked after us, our joy
Away from the simple, soulful bustling
Lies and life, luck drawn away from home
Suffering

Solitary monochromes of a melody
Unloved islands lost past the shore
With the water promising the lapping freedom
That only age can withstand

Fond memories run rivulets through the sands
Eyes shining with the knowledge of an existence
On our own, bitter freedoms
He had a family once

A life

And we, we have our endless sea of society
Always flowing through steady waters
Every heart fluttering with that sugary sweet promise
That when the day ends

We get to go home

Invisible, he keeps searching for his shoes
Footprints melted into the sand and drifted away
He's lived a life, and lived the lies
And is looking for the place to begin once more

I wish
He could go home

Too…
This was written for the prompt from simplepoetry's prompts and submissions for February. The task was to write down how you felt about this video here: [link] and work what you wrote into a poem. This is what I felt/heard/expressed.

This is very beautifully written, and twice as powerful when combined with the idea of that video. Wonderful :aww:
